Best Matcha in America

The top 10, ranked by the Meter. Qualification: 100+ ratings — no unproven hype allowed. Everything above the Starbucks Line officially beats the chain.

    How the Meter works

Stars are what people clicked. The Meter is what they actually said.

    5 — GOD TIER 4.55 – 5.00

Transcendent whisking. You will think about this matcha during unrelated meetings.

    4 — BUSSIN 4.15 – 4.54

Genuinely excellent — reviewers agree on taste AND vibe. Order twice, apologize to no one.

    3 — MID 3.50 – 4.14

Perfectly fine matcha, the way an airport is a perfectly fine building.

    2 — NAH 2.80 – 3.49

Something's off — the reviews say "bitter", "clumpy", or worse: "convenient".

    1 — ABOMINATION below 2.80

Green-tinted regret. Legally we can't call it matcha.

    1. Aggregate

We pull every review from everywhere — Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor — into one big, mildly judgmental pile.

    2. Extract

An LLM reads them all and scores the five things humans actually argue about: taste, craft, vibe, service, value.

    3. Judge

Every shop gets a composite score; every item on its menu gets its own. Five brutal tiers. The Meter does not negotiate.
